Dear Beloved Families,
At City Centre Church, we recognize the deep significance of honouring and celebrating the lives of our dearly departed loved ones. It is our heartfelt desire to walk alongside our church family during times of grief, offering comfort, support, and guidance in arranging a meaningful funeral service.
To ensure that we can serve our church community with the utmost care and attention, funerals held at City Centre Church are reserved for members in good standing who are walking in faithfulness to the Lord. Church members are those who have gone through the official membership process, committed themselves to the life and ministry of City Centre Church, and whose names are listed on our official membership roll. A member in good standing is someone who actively participates in the life of the church, remains in a healthy relationship with the church body, and demonstrates a walk of faithfulness to the Lord. This policy allows us to focus our resources on providing a thoughtful, honourable, and well-supported service for those who have been an integral part of our church family.
We hope this policy provides clarity and reassurance, and we remain committed to serving our members with the love and dignity they deserve. If you have any questions, we welcome you to reach out to our Church Office for further guidance.
Church Support
When a beloved church member in good standing passes away, we extend our caring hands to help coordinate the funeral service. Should you choose a pastor from City Centre Church to officiate, we will work closely with your family to craft a meaningful and heartfelt service, honouring the life and faith of your loved one.
Pastoral Support
We understand the significance of having a trusted pastor to lead the funeral service and provide words of comfort. Families may request one of our pastors to officiate the service, and we will do our best to accommodate based on availability.
Senior Pastor, Deric Bartlett
Senior Associate Pastor, Bryan Lee
Family Contributions
Your involvement is essential in ensuring that the funeral service reflects the life and legacy of your loved one. We kindly ask that you provide the necessary details for the order of service in a timely manner. Additionally, families are responsible for arranging the design and printing of bulletins, though we are happy to offer guidance if needed.
Honorariums
To express appreciation for the service of our pastors and musicians, we recommend the following honorariums:
- Pastor: $250
- Musicians: $150 per musician
- Media/Administrative Support: Discretionary
Funeral Timing
To provide the best possible support, funerals at City Centre Church are scheduled Monday to Thursday between 10 AM and 3 PM. Weekend services are unavailable. However, if a pastor is available, an offsite funeral may be considered during the week.
Facility Availability
Please note that due to high ministry demands, funerals cannot be held at City Centre Church during the months leading up to Easter, Christmas, and September. However, our pastors may be available to conduct funeral services at funeral homes or other venues during these periods.
Support for Church Members
City Centre Church is committed to supporting the families of our church members as much as resources allow. For those who have been officially received as members, remain in good standing, and walk in faithfulness to the Lord, we may be able to assist with certain aspects of the funeral service.
This support is made possible not only through the church but also through the kindness and generosity of those in our church family who choose to help in their own way. Some may offer their time, services, or financial assistance simply out of love and care. This is entirely voluntary and given from the heart by those who feel led to do so.
Communication and Coordination
To ensure clear and respectful planning, all funeral arrangements must be coordinated through the Church Office Administration.
We deeply appreciate your understanding of this policy as we seek to serve our church family with care and honour. If you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.
With deepest sympathy and warm regards,
City Centre Church
