Pastor Deric preached from Hebrews 11:8–12 in a sermon titled “The Obedience of Faith.”
We were reminded that genuine faith responds to God's call with obedient trust and rests confidently in His promises. Abraham left behind the familiar to follow God into an unknown future, living as a stranger while looking ahead to the eternal city whose builder and maker is God. Likewise, Sarah trusted in God's faithfulness when His promise seemed humanly impossible, receiving the strength necessary to accomplish His purposes. Together, their examples teach us that the obedience of faith is marked by surrender to God's leading, dependence upon His power, and confidence that He will always be faithful to His Word.
