Scars, Secrets, and Scandals | Deric Bartlett | 04-19-2026
April 21, 2026

On Sunday, Pastor Deric preached from James 3:13–18 in a message titled, “Secrets, Scars, and Scandals.” We were reminded that true wisdom is not merely what we say, but how we live. Marked by humility and good conduct, wisdom from above reflects a heart transformed by God, while earthly wisdom, driven by jealousy and selfish ambition, leads to disorder and destruction.
This passage calls us to examine our hearts honestly, to confront the sin that can quietly take root within, and to seek the wisdom that comes from God alone. As we grow in purity, peace, and humility, we become instruments of righteousness, bearing fruit that reflects the character of Christ in His people.
