Pastor Deric Bartlett preached from Hebrews 11:17–19 in a sermon titled “The Testing of Faith.”

Through the testing of Abraham, we were reminded that faith is often refined through trials that call us to trust God beyond what we can see or understand. Though Abraham was asked to surrender the very son through whom God's promises would come, he believed that the Lord was faithful to His word and powerful enough to fulfill His purposes even through death itself. This passage teaches us that testing is not evidence of God's absence, but a means by which He strengthens and matures the faith of His people, calling us to trust His character, rest in His promises, and obey Him even when the path forward remains unseen.
