Love One Another | Deric Bartlett | 04-12-2026
This past Sunday, Pastor Deric preached from John 13:34–35 in a message titled “Love One Another.”  Through Jesus’ command to His disciples, we were reminded that love is not merely an emotion, but the defining mark of those who belong to Christ. As He calls us to love one another just as He has loved us, we see that this kind of love is rooted in His sacrificial work and flows from a life that abides in Him.

This passage shows us that true, Christlike love is produced by the work of the Spirit, shaped by our union with Jesus, and expressed in the way we care for one another. It is through this love that the world is given a visible witness of the gospel and the transforming power of Christ in His people. We are called to abide in Christ, to walk in step with the Spirit, and to love one another in a way that reflects the love we have first received in Him.

Sermon Notes:

1. Loving one another is a dominant strategy of the Kingdom (Jn 13:33–34)
2. Loving one another is a reflection of abiding in Jesus (Jn 14–15)
3. Living one another is manufactured by the Spirit (Jn
16:13–15)
4. Loving one another produces a great witness for Jesus (Jn
13:35; 17:23; 1Jn 4:13)
