This past Sunday, Pastor Deric Bartlett preached from 2 Corinthians 8:1-9, entitled, “Excel in Generosity.” Through the example of the Macedonian churches, we were reminded that true generosity flows from the grace of God rather than the abundance of our resources.
In the midst of affliction and poverty, their joyful and willing giving revealed hearts first surrendered to the Lord, showing that generosity is a spiritual fruit shaped by the gospel and patterned after Christ Himself.
