On Good Friday, Pastor Bryan preached from Mark 15:39 in a message centred on the confession of the centurion at the cross. Through the account of the crucifixion, we were reminded that the clearest revelation of Jesus’ identity is seen not in displays of power, but in His suffering and death.
As the centurion witnessed the way Jesus died, he declared, “Truly this man was the Son of God,” revealing that even in the most unlikely moment, Christ’s true identity was made known.
The confession of the centurion reminds us that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace, and that salvation comes not by works, but by faith in the Son of God. We are called to look to the cross, to see Christ rightly, and to respond in faith to the One who gave Himself for us.
